The material composition of the sealing cord is very diverse: glass fibre cord, ceramic fibre cord, aramid fibre cord, graphite fibre cord (reinforced, unarmoured, with various combinations of carbon fibres), natural or synthetic fibres, Teflon (plain, graphite), etc… The gland packings can be supplied with various weaves, with or without core.
